A Calmer, Cleaner Path Through Divorce

If you’re thinking about or going through a divorce, it’s natural to feel uncertain about what lies ahead. Questions about finances, family, and the future can weigh heavily, leaving you stressed and unsure where to turn.

But divorce doesn’t have to be a story of conflict and loss. With the right approach, it can be handled with clarity, respect, and care — paving the way for a healthier next chapter. At Haas Mediation, we guide couples through separation in a simpler, calmer way that protects what matters most: your family, your resources, and your peace of mind.

We Help People Who Are Experiencing:

  • Drawn out divorce cases

  • Unaffordable legal fees

  • High conflict/stakes divorces

  • Alimony complications

  • Co-parenting disagreements

  • Fear of the unknown

When my own friends or family members are looking for a mediator, I send them to Haas Mediation.”

Your Guide to a Calmer, Clearer Divorce

If you’re facing divorce, you probably just want clear next steps without the noise and overwhelm that can come from the internet or well-meaning friends. You’re dealing with enough — the process shouldn’t add more stress.

I founded Haas Mediation in 2021 to give couples a more straightforward, affordable, and amicable path forward. Divorce mediation is my full-time profession — it’s not a side service or one of many hats I wear. I studied mediation and conflict resolution at Columbia University and the Morton Deutsch International Center for Cooperation and Conflict Resolution. I’m certified by the New York Office of Court Administration as a mediation trainer, an adjunct faculty member of mediation at Hofstra’s Maurice A. Deane School of Law, and serve on the board of Directors for the Family and Divorce Mediation Council of New York.

Every divorce is unique. I believe you know your life and what’s best for you better than anyone else. My role is to guide the process and support constructive communication so that you can reach agreements that work for everyone involved.

If you’d like to explore whether mediation is right for you, I welcome you to schedule a call with me.

Clear and Supportive Process

Complimentary Call

I’ll take 15 minutes to understand your situation, identify challenges, and help outline clear next steps. This is an opportunity to begin offloading the weight of the unknowns and start moving forward.

Consultation Session

The consultation session allows us to get acquainted and for you to fully explore the process. During the consultation, you’ll receive:

  • A clear outline of the process (topics, needed information, & end products, etc.)

  • An overview of how mediation can support you

  • A time and price estimate

  • Ample time for your questions

  • The chance to broach sensitive topics in private before meeting with your partner in mediation.

Mediation Meetings

Usually, couples without children need 3 to 5 sessions to complete the process. Couples with children usually take 5 to 10 sessions to finish. Sessions generally last 1-2 hours.

It’s substantially cheaper than litigation and is tailored to your needs, communication, and precious resources.

You determine the pace and only pay for what you need.

Receive Final Draft of Divorce Agreement and Plan

At the end, you receive a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which is a formal but non-binding agreement outlining your decisions in detail. For a final safety measure, a paralegal or attorney formalizes the MOU into your final separation agreement and files it for you.

You are finished and can move into the new chapter you authored.

Andrew was a life-saver in helping us get through a sticky situation. Would recommend him strongly to anyone needing a mediator.”
